Priyanka Chopra – the sexiest Asian Woman
Priyanka Chopra was voted Sexiest Asian Woman of 2006 in Eastern Eye, an Asian newspaper published in Britain.
Biography:
Priyanka was born on July 18, 1982 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India to Ashok and Madhu Chopra nee Akhauri, both doctors. She also has a brother. She had Breast Cancer when she was young and was often called Mimi. Priyanka is very attached to her father. Her father is from Punjab while her mother is from Bihar in north India. She spent part of her childhood in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Her family frequently moved since her father was in the Army. She studied at La Martiniere Girls' College in Lucknow, as a young girl and later came to the United States, where she was a student at Newton North High School, in Newton, Massachusetts and John F. Kennedy High School (Cedar Rapids) in Iowa before returning to India to complete high school at Army Public School (Bareilly). She began college at Jai Hind College in Mumbai but left after winning the Miss World pageant. Priyanka's Father is also a very good singer.
Priyanka had a very varied upbringing . Having joined an Army family, she moved from Leh-ladakh in the north to Kerala in the south from Bombay in the west to Jamshedpur in the East . She imbibed the ethos of the multicultural Indian society. A family favorite she grew up in the warmth & Love offered by her grandparents, aunts & uncles. All of this went into the making of a very warm, loving & confident personality.
She started her Education from La Martiniere Girls College in Lucknow as a resident student, A short stay at Maria Goretti College in Bareilly prepared her for further studies in the USA. Having completed class 10th from Boston USA she decided to become a software Engineer or a Criminal Psychologist. Suddenly life took change with the Femina Miss India contest, which she won with aplomb.
HOBBIES:
Have been varied at different times. Singing & Writing poetry has been her all times favourite. She started performing at musical shows since three years of age along with her father & uncle , who are both singers of great repute.
AMBITIONS:
She aims for the stars after completing her education. She intends taking up a social cause closest to her heart. She is a movie Buff and would love to join the galaxy if a good offer comes.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
1. The only Indian in USA to have been selected at state level for the National opus Honour choir.
2. Extensive charity work back in India & USA a. Joined the CAF & CII in their literacy programme and is their ambassadors.
b. Member of the support group for the thalassaemic children in U.P., India.
c. Participated in the Adult education awareness program with the NGO's in the peripheral areas of Bareilly.
d. Joined the Indian Govt. sponsored Polio Eradication Programme as a volunteer.

Beauty contest winner:
Priyanka was crowned Miss India World and later Miss World in 2000.[ In the same year, Lara Dutta and Diya Mirza, both from India, won the Miss Universe and Miss Asia Pacific crowns, in a rare triple.
When she won the Miss World crown, she became the fifth Indian woman to win the title in a span of just seven years.
Acting career:
After winning the Miss World title, Priyanka became an actress. She first acted in a Tamil film Thamizhan (2002) and since then has acted in many Bollywood films. She then acted in a series of flops until Mujhse Shaadi Karogi in (2004) which was her second hit. She followed it up with Aitraaz, a Hindi remake of the Demi Moore-starrer Disclosure which was yet another box office success. In the same year, she participated in a world tour aptly titled "Temptations 2004" with Bollywood's leading stars, including Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta and Arjun Rampal.
In 2005, she had many releases, though most did moderately at the box office.But her film Bluffmaster which released late in 2005 was one of the biggest hits of 2005. In 2006, she worked in two of the most successful films of the year - Krrish and Don - The Chase Begins Again. She has also recently been on the hit chatshow Koffee with Karan.
Priyanka Chopra to launch her official website:
Priyanka Chopra is all set to launch an official website for herself. Currently, the actress is in the process of meeting several web-page designers, both from India and abroad, for this. "I am shooting in Mumbai for some months, so this is the time when I can meet people to get the website going. It will be an interactive website, and I will make it a point to see that it's upgraded every week," Priyanka says. The only problem is that she has not been able to get the domain www.priyankachopra.com . "On the day I won the Miss World pageant, the domain was booked by someone. We are trying to work a deal with the person who has a right to this domain . But it seems difficult. There are several websites in my name, but none of them are official," she says. The website will have a collection of Priyanka's photographs from her childhood days. It will also contain exclusive photographs from films on which she has worked and will be working in future. On the work front, Priyanka is busy shooting Rumi Jaffery's film God Tusi Great Ho with Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachcan. This is her second film with Salman, after Mujhse Shaadi Karogi . "I admire the way Salman leads his life. He is a very cool guy. We both play journalists in the film," she says.
